Virtual Planning of Bone, Soft tissue, and Vessels in Fibula Osteocutaneous Free Flaps

The Haptics-Assisted Surgery Planning (HASP) system, relies on stereo graphics and haptics to allow surgeons, with minimal system training and without support of technicians, to plan complex surgical procedures. We here show the system used to plan a mandibular reconstruction using a fibula free flap (FOFF). A surgeon may interactively and iteratively find the optimal fibula flap solution by defining and refining fibula osteotomies, anastomosis sites, and configuration of a skin paddle.
