В Демократической Республике Конго — богатейшие залежи нефти и алмазов. Но её население остаётся одним из беднейших в мире. Уличная преступность там носит характер эпидемии: преступные группировки постоянно пополняются. Одними из самых жестоких считаются подростковые банды. В фильме Андрея Молодых «Конго. Дети с мачете» — об одной из таких. Банда «Вне закона» промышляет в трущобах Матади, ключевого порта страны. Подростки нападают на магазины, воруют и грабят, калечат и убивают. Воюют друг с другом и принимают наркотики. Главарь банды уверен, что деньги сделают его жизнь счастливой. ========================================================= Congo. Children with a machete The Democratic Republic of the Congo has the richest deposits of oil and diamonds. But its population remains one of the poorest in the world. Street crime there has the character of an epidemic: criminal gangs are constantly replenished. Teenage gangs are considered one of the most violent. In Andrey Molodykh’s film “Congo. Children with a machete” is about one of these. The Outlaw gang operates in the slums of Matadi, the country’s key port. Teenagers attack shops, steal and rob, maim and kill. They fight each other and take drugs. The leader of the gang is sure that money will make his life happy.
