Genres of Music 🎼 Reggae, Salsa, Flamenco, Mariachi and Tango 🎸 Episode 3

Educational video for children that talks about some well-known genres of music. Each musical genre is different: there are differences in how they sound, how they are played, what instruments are used and even their origin. The first of today’s music genres is reggae. Reggae is a style of music that emerged in Jamaica in the 1960s but became popular in the 1970s. Reggae bands usually use bass guitars, guitars, pianos, organs, trumpets and percussion instruments such as congas or drums. The second genre is salsa. Some say that salsa-like rhythms were heard as early as the 1930s, but it was not until the late 1960s that this musical genre became popular. The third genre is flamenco. Flamenco is a musical genre that originated in Andalusia, in southern Spain. It is not clear exactly when flamenco began. Although the word ““flamenco““ first appeared in the 18th century, it is believed that this musical genre is much older. The fourth genre is the mariachi. Mariachi music began in the 18th century in Mexico and has since become a very popular musical genre all over the world. Finally, there is tango. Tango originated among the European and African immigrant populations in Argentina and Uruguay in the 19th century. This video is very useful and interesting for kids.
