How Did Michael Know it Was Hyman Roth? | Michael Corleone VS Hyman Roth In the Godfather II, we are reintroduced to Don Michael Corleone, in the middle of making the biggest deal the criminal underworld had ever seen, propelling the Corleone family to both gain legitimacy but at the same time an enormous amount of power and influence. Michael was partnering with known mob associate, Hyman Roth, renowned for his business acumen and money making skills for the mafia, they were about to make the biggest deal in mafia history. However, as we all know by now, Roth had other intentions behind this deal. We find out that Roth was conspiring with someone within the Corleone family against Michael. All that is clearly shown in the film, but what confuses many people, and some couldn’t really understand, as it was intricately shown, was how it seems Michael almost instantly knew exactly who it was.
