The band’s raw Black/Thrash sound of yesteryear has given way to a darker, more complete path within Black Metal: blending the primitive, lo-fi mysticism of the first wave, the unearthly melodic conviction of the second wave and the dissonant arpeggiation of modern innovators in a firestorm of rousing, hair-whipping songcraft. Featuring three quarters of arcane Death Metal band ANARKHON, there is clear cross-pollination, with both acts having recently headed to murkier, more esoteric climes. The primary link is the warped riffing and skewed melodies of Sodomic – guitarist, main songwriter and frontman for both bands - whose masterfully evocative vocal incantations here deconstruct how the Abrahamic religions have negatively shaped human behaviour over the centuries.
