The Highwayman (Cover)

’The Highwayman’ was written by the wonderful Jimmy Webb in 1977 and famously recorded by the “The Highwaymen” comprising Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson as well as by others. It’s about reincarnation over time into a highwayman, a sailor, a construction worker and a space ship pilot. Jimmy apparently had a dream about being a highwayman after an evenings drinking with Harry Nilsson and it all kicked off from there.
