Improv on Moroccan loutar

I got this Moroccan Amazigh loutar in Essaouira back in March 2023, from an instrument shop called The Africa Shop, if I remember correctly, run by a fellow named Hajjoum with whom I had several fascinating conversations about music and instruments. I must admit, this improv is not so much in true Moroccan loutar style, but I have been listening to a lot of recordings of the instrument, especially the famous maestro the late Mohamed Rouicha, and I like to think I’ve at least absorbed some of the ornamentation styles. I’ve learned a few tunes too but I’d just built a new bridge for this from some mahogany wood I got recently and was testing it out; I was feeling this scale and melody so decided to just record some of it and I liked it.
