400 Hours

I’m about 400 hours in to No.7; the train is finished. While a working spring driven train is a milestone in the completion of this piece, I’m most likely less than half way through Everything is held in place by two 12 x 24“ plates, which is less than half of what the finished width will be. Anything that looks shiny, yellow, and flat still needs to be carved up to match the gears. The plates are 3/8“ thick, so carving them will be an undertaking.
