Rupert Sheldrake, PhD, is a biologist and author of more than 90 technical papers and nine books, including The Presence of the Past. He is best known for his hypothesis of morphic resonance, the idea that memory is inherent in nature and that the ‘laws of nature’ are more like habits. He was a fellow of Clare College, Cambridge University, and is currently a fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences in Petaluma, California and of Schumacher College in Dartington, England.
