A10 attack planes launch from their Las Vegas base ✈️

Several different A-10 Thunderbolt II close air support attack aircraft take off from Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. Watch these iconic 70s planes, nicknamed ’Warthogs’, and listen to the sound as they buzz pass the mountains of the red rock Mojave Desert. The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II stopped being produced in 1984 but remains in service with the United States Air Force (USAF), despite expected retirement. The type has recently been used in the Middle East to destroy land targets with it’s powerful 30 mm GAU-8 Avenger rotary autocannon, akin to a ’minigun’, which the airplane is built around. It’s known for it’s ’BRRRT’ sound when firing.
