The reference book is a French book called “Nin-jutsu : Ninja, les guerriers de l’ombre” by Roland Habersetzer, there are variations, but this is the most accurate and verifiable version that I know of. In this book, you will also find accurate drawings on how the fingers should be arranged for the mudras. Watch, read, repeat like you mean it, and it will start to make sense.
