Paper mechanical iris

Here’s a brief video of an iris diaphragm made entirely of paper (plus a little Scotch tape and a dab of Elmer’s glue). It’s operation occasionally needs some slight encouragement, but overall it functions incredibly well considering it was created with just cheap printer paper. It’s also very thin (under 1 mm) - as it’s effectively 4 sheets. Template available here: Design your own iris at
