This self taught master was influenced by many of history’s true guitar pioneers including - Albert King, Jimmy Reed, Wes Montgomery, and Jimi Hendrix. He has appeared on the same ticket with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, George Benson, Buddy Guy, and BB King. It is unbelievable that Alligator Records or Delmark Records “never“ signed Taylor. They are signing “young“ artists, and most are going “nowhere“ while great guitar giants like Melvin are constantly getting overlooked! I am hoping things work out for but in the current blues “climate“ I doubt it. Currently under his own production, Melvin has released - Beyond the Burning Guitar (2010), Sweet Taste of Guitar (2012), and Taylor Made (2013).
