DJ Brockie, MC Det & MC Skibadee | Drum & Bass 1999 | KOOL FM 94.5
Artwork by Take Me Back Pirate Radio Archives. This MC partnership was one of the most talked about in the Drum & Bass scene. If Skibadee and Det were on the flyer then you knew the rave was going to be jammed. Their radio and rave sets would literally be on fire.
The very same year Det & Skibadee released “Slowmo“ and “New Style Avengers“ - Det & Skibadee Present 2 x Freestyle, on Times Two Records. They also shot music videos for these releases and they were screened on MTV and other music channels in the UK, putting Drum & Bass on the map.
Not to mention the dub plate king DJ Brockie who exclusive selection and tight mixes gave him legendary status. If there was one show listeners stayed patiently gripped until it went on air, it was DJ Brockie and MC Det.
Surprisingly, Brockie started his music production career rather later in 1996, firstly co-producing with Footloose - “Brock-Out“ and “Gat-Hummin“ - on K Power Records. Then releasing his famous hits on Sonic Art Records with DJ Kane and Ed Solo, “Stampede“, “Outboard“, “Shallow Minds“ and “Fantasy“ in 2001.
