After the 6 year hiatus after the release of their critically acclaimed ninth album “A Moon Shaped Pool“, Radiohead decided to go on a final world tour. Upon realising that their catalogue had become far too large to play every song they wanted, frontman Thom Yorke devised a ground-breaking plan to trial playing multiple songs at once. The success of such a move is debated, and much to the dismay of guitarist Jonny Greenwood, who had to play multiple complicated musical parts at the same time, leading to a minor breakdown in the footage above. Sadly the general consensus is that of less is more, and this performance, in the eyes of critics, proved that sentiment, albeit not in the way the band had hoped.
Ful Stop, Idioteque and Sit Down. Stand Up.
