Israel police released video of a gunman opening fire at Israeli border police at the entrance to Jerusalem’s Old City, Thursday, February 6, slightly injuring one policemen before the gunman was killed by return fire. The man was armed with a pistol and has been identified as an Arab citizen of Israel by Israeli security officials. Security forces are questioning a man who is suspected of driving the gunman into the area. While the cause of the attack has not yet been determined, the attack comes during a surge in violence in Jerusalem and the West Bank, amidst increased Palestinian anger at a U.S. peace plan.
