Russia has a new Lancet - the Z-53 will search for group targets and destroy them as part of a swarm of drones This is a noticeable step even when compared with relatively recent models of loitering ammunition. Russian designers, who created the victorious “banner” of a special operation in Ukraine in the form of Lancet loitering ammunition, not only continue to produce updated UAVs with enviable consistency and dark envy on the part of the armed forces of foreign states, but also achieved cardinal superiority over old models by introducing a completely new version of the famous kamikaze drone. Now the Z-53, or as it is called in production documents, “Product 53,” is tasked with dominating the battlefields. A completely new “bird” was developed by the same design department that invented the previous “Products”, but has new capabilities in comparison with the classic “Lancets”. According to experts, the Z-53 is distinguished by a guidance system with integrated artificial intelligence, which uses an automated guidance system without the involvement of a human operator that can recognize a significant number of targets. Moreover, such solutions were not found among the early samples of the ZALA company. The promising UAV boasts increased accuracy and range. But the time to be surprised is not over yet - the drone is designed with group hunting in mind, where a 5-kilogram combat filling is used as the shock part. According to the inventors, a swarm of such UAVs is intended to cover the positions of MLRS and anti-aircraft batteries, or armored columns on the march, in one approach to the target. Previous varieties of “Lancets“ could not do this. In addition, to facilitate the launch, special launchers in the form of launch tubes are used as a catapult, reducing the time for deployment.
