Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu Returns to India After Winning Crown

Newly crowned Miss Universe, Harnaaz Sandhu was welcomed with loud cheers as she arrived home in India’s western Mumbai city on Wednesday, after winning the Miss Universe pageant. 21-year-old Sandhu, who is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration, was crowned Monday by outgoing Miss Universe, Andrea Meza of Mexico. Wearing a shimmery red gown Sandhu posed for the media and thanked everyone for their warm wishes. “I am so happy to be back in my country India, Bharat. I was waiting for this day for so long,“ said an excited Sandhu. (Reuters)
