Taliban threatens Pakistan: open trade routes or face isolation!
Amid escalating tensions, Taliban Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Stanikzai has declared that Pakistan must open its trade routes for Afghan products or risk severe consequences, including a blockade of its access to Central Asia.
“If Pakistan doesn’t open its routes, we will close the route to Central Asia for Pakistan”, Stanikzai cautioned.
Currently, hundreds of Afghan trucks are stranded at Torkham while Pakistani trucks move freely. With Afghanistan relying heavily on these routes for survival, the stakes couldn’t be higher.
The Torkham and Spin Boldak crossings are already tense hotspots, and ongoing confrontations along the Durand Line have repeatedly led to closures, costing Afghan traders millions.
Will Pakistan heed this warning and open its routes, or will it risk being cut off from vital trade??
