️An extremely unfortunate day for Turkey and its influence in Syria
Since the morning, violent clashes have broken out between Turkish-backed factions (Al-Amshat, Al-Hamzat and Sultan Murad), as well as between Squor al-Shamal and Jabhat al-Sham on the other side in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
By evening, the groups stormed each other’s headquarters, while all the warring factions were armed and supported by Turkey, which for several years made serious efforts to unite them under common leadership to fight Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian Arab Army and against the Kurds.
Skirmishes involving armored vehicles escalated into full-fledged hostilities by the evening. There are reports of hundreds of dead militants from all sides of this conflict. Moreover, some of the groups, deciding that Turkey was more sympathetic to other groups, opened fire on Turkey, which led to artillery fire from the Turkish border territory on the positions of the groups.
