Virtual Gardening Series: Introduction to Pruning

Not sure how to prune your garden? This video is for you. You’ll learn pruning basics and hear a Master Gardener answer some questions from the audience. Beginning with the basics of pruning in general, Debora highlights different pruning principles and techniques. She provides a review and demonstration of these techniques using some of the plants in Richard Bernier’s garden. She also demonstrates how to prune a Japanese maple to really bring out its delicate beauty. Debora Gurrad became interested in gardening at an early age from watching her parents, who are both in their nineties and still gardening. In 2019 she was able to fulfill her dream of Master Gardener training and has been a member of the Vancouver Island Master Gardener Association ever since. Her special interests are pruning and vegetable gardening. As a retired teacher who still loves to teach, Debora really enjoys sharing her gardening knowledge with other gardeners.
