In 2017, Benjamin Alard started the ambitious project to record Johann Sebastian Bach’s complete works for keyboard. “This is the first time Bach’s complete works for keyboard will be performed by the same musician, explains Benjamin Alard. Contrary to the encyclopaedic complete works so far published (harpsichord, organ, cantatas, concertos, etc.), my approach is to present Bach’s keyboard music in relation to the chronology of his life, his influences, his travels, his professional choices.” Each volume is conceived like a series of episodes following the main steps of the Kantor’s life.
