Irma Thomas performs “Time is on My Side“ to promote “The Mississippi: River of Song“ television series produced by PBS and aired on January of 1999. “Time is on My Side“ was written by Jerry Ragovoy (under the pseudonym of Norman Meade) with additional lyrics by Jimmy Norman. This performance is too good to be forgotten. The arrangement is spot on compared to the original recording from 1964 and Irma Thomas is just as flawless as always in her singing: her voice have not changed a thing in more than three decades. I couldn’t get a hold of a better source of this footage, concessions had to be made and I tried to improve it by using the best of my capabilities while still maintaining the original feeling at the same time.
