Wildhorses of Europe - Riot at the waterhole - Summertime trouble

For all those who see battles for power and status here, let me tell you, it is not. You can observe different situations here: Mostly you see young stallions from so-called Youngster- or Bachelorgroups playing and scuffle. You can see Herd stallions protecting their families or talking to the Herd stallions of other families and also the one or other more serious discussion. It is summer, the horses are generally stressed by the flies and disrespectful people and it is mating season. The young stallions want to train and check their strength. What they do NOT want is to usurp absolute leadership. In this area mares are poached and 2/3 of thehorse population consists of stallions. Please do not make any general statementsabout ranking or status * from this video. *source: Position statement on the use/misuse of leadership and dominance concepts in horse training 2017
