Широка страна моя родная - Wide Is My Motherland (German Version)

One of the most iconic and influential songs to come out of the Soviet Union. This was originally found in the 1936 Soviet film “Цирк“ (Circus), which depicts the story of an American woman fleeing racism in the United States due to a half black child. The song became instantly popular in the USSR, even becoming the callsign for Radio Moscow years later. However, the second line of the song was dropped in the 1950’s as it contained references to Stalin.
