This is a rundown of every hit song present on the MuchMusic Countdown in 2002. Let’s bring some Canadiana to nostalgia playlists! These have been my pet projects for a while because I’m a bit obsessed with old-school MuchMusic/can-con in general. In 2002 we’re pretty solidly in the realm of what we think of as 2000s music. Punk pop has gone fully mainstream, Nelly and Ashanti are dominating the charts, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake go solo, we get a hint of the Canadian indie boom to come as well as some solid Canadian rap, and nu-metal is petering out but leaves Nickelback in its wake.
