I’ll Be Dammed

Well, we finally got a beaver interested in our property. The problem is, it didn’t choose the turn-key pond all ready for a new occupant. Instead, it’s flooding our back yard. We have four willow trees we really want to keep. If we allow them to dam up this part of the brook, the trees will die. So here we go. A battle of the wills. Update 11/2023. The beavers dammed a culvert up the street from us as well as our back yard. I installed beaver baffles to help control the water levels while allowing them to live here. The town hired a trapper and killed them....
