Darjeeling Himalayan Railway - ’Z’ reverse No. 1

The ’Z’ reverse, a unique practice in DHR, in which the train goes forward, changes line, reverses and moves forward in a ’Z’ format in order to gain altitude in difficult terrain of the Himalayan foothill. This series of ’Z’ reverse on the New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling line are found near Tindharia, West Bengal.
