LIVE: Day 2 of 138th IOC session ahead of Tokyo 2020 opening: Press-conference

President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach speaks to media following the second day of the 138th IOC Session, taking place ahead of the start of the Olympic Games in Tokyo on Wednesday, July 21. The Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will finally kick off this year with an opening ceremony on July 23. The games will be held without spectators, with the exception of just a few venues, and under the state of emergency related to the current coronavirus infection rates in the country.​ Japan will be hosting the games through August 8.
