It is known for its charming and tranquil setting, stunning natural beauty, and historic character. it is famous for its unique combination of traditional limestone cottages, stone bridges, and the picturesque River Windrush, which meanders through the village center. The village offers a variety of amenities, including tearooms, pubs, gift shops, and a selection of restaurants.
