Eduard Artemyev - Soundtrack for “The Mystery of Edwin Drood“ (1980)

Eduard Artemyev (1937 – 2022) was a Soviet and Russian composer of electronic music and film scores. Outside of Russia, he is mostly known for his soundtracks for films such as ’At Home Among Strangers’, ’Solaris’, ’Mirror’, ’’Siberiade’, ’Stalker’, ’Burnt by the Sun’ and many others. The Mystery of Edwin Drood is the final novel by Charles Dickens, originally published in 1870. Upon the death of Dickens on 9 June 1870, the novel was left unfinished in his writing desk, only six of a planned twelve instalments having been written. He left no detailed plan for the remaining instalments or solution to the novel’s mystery, and many later adaptations and continuations by other writers have attempted to complete the story. 1.
