Vals by Bartolome Calatayud

Be familiar with the opening measure to get the feeling for the vals (or waltz) meter. Be sure you are using the ’p’ (RH thumb) on the 6th string and the ’a’ (RH ring finger) on the 1st string while you play the open second and third strings with ’i’ and ’m’. Practice the first 8 measures well because they repeat often throughout the work. Add harmonics at the end and be sure to add a ritardando (slowing down) just before the return of the A section.
