Harpoon Certification Training aboard USS Chicago

PACIFIC OCEAN - The Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Chicago (SSN 721) conducted Encapsulated Harpoon Certification Training Vehicle (EHCTV) testing, June 3, 2020. EHCTV testing is required for the submarine to carry and employ war shot tactical Harpoons. The Harpoon system provides commanders with the lethal all-weather anti-ship capability to rapidly engage targets at a long-range.
