Noël: Is There More To Life Than Dancing? [Full Album + Bonus] (1979)

Brothers Ron & Russell Mael, better known as eccentric duo SPARKS, teamed up with Giorgio Moroder in late 1978 to produce the electronic masterpiece album No. 1 In Heaven which yielded two big hits for the duo with the quasi-title track Number One Song In Heaven (UK #14) and Beat The Clock (UK #10), and a minor hit with Tryouts For The Human Race peaking at #45. In the spring of 1979 they recorded a more straight-forward disco album with American model-come-singer Patricia Noel, the single I Want A Man being released first in Germany May 1979, whereas the UK opted for its B-side Dancing Is Dangerous, released in mid-June. The album hit the stores in August 1979, followed by the next single The Night They Invented Love in September. None of the singles charted. Dancing was released in the US in October but with the anti-disco-backlash it climbed no higher than #91 in the disco charts. Noel went on to form the group Noel & The Red Wedge in 1982 and released the new wave-styled album Peer Pressure which did not yield any hits, and there is little information on whatever happened to her since. 00:00 Dancing Is Dangerous 09:58 Is There More To Life Than Dancing? 17:55 The Night They Invented Love 27:14 Au Revoir 30:22 I Want A Man Bonus: 35:17 Dancing Is Dangerous (Single Version) 39:00 I Want A Man (Single Version) 42:32 The Night They Invented Love (Single Version)
