Geometry Nodes - Part 2 - displace and keep volume
In this video Geometry Nodes - Part 2, I show the use of the Set Position node and how to displace mesh with a texture while keeping volume.
The Set Position Node is one of the most used nodes. The benefit of a translation node is that it has a selection input.
In this video:
- Displace and keep the volume
- Set Position Node
- Translation Node
- Flow of a Node Tree
- Scale on the normal (Sphere)
- And Multiply the scale with texture.
- Offset the values of the texture from 0 to 1, to -0.5 to 0.5. So that way we can multiply or amplify the effect of the texture better.
There is a little issue with the audio but I believe it’s still bearable. I try to solve it for the next video’s. The problem is that the monitors (speakers) give way too much bass, so it’s hard to set it up all right.
