-8 °C, abandoned puppy aloned and sadness in heavy snowing at midnight, shaking in frozen and fear! The story begins like this: I’ve started on a faraway journey across Europe, with my friend, by car! As we were supposed to pass through 7 countries. I don’t always look forward when I drive, but glance at every wide area on both sides. The night already fell. It was past 10 PM. Pitch-black and... we saw.... The unbelievable thing is that, while driving, in the light reflected from the car’s headlights, we saw a pair of little eyes. A pair of little eyes that shone. We stopped in the middle of the road and began to reverse. I got out of the car, and in the deep snow in the bushes, by the light of my flashlight, I saw them again! The little eyes! A little Doggie! I take a piece of food I brought with me and I slowly approach. And it’s so tiny, so scared! Can’t decide whether to approach me or not. Indecisive. Wags its tail a little bit, starts walking towards me, then gives up! And now what? I’ve reached the decision! We slowly come up with a plan. We surround the little Doggie. We knew it wouldn’t be able to escape through the snow because it’s little. I descend the slope and don’t let it get away. My friend approaches it from the upper side and catches it. In that moment it screamed in fear! I take it, from my friend’s arms into mine! I can feel the little body shivering! It’s so cold! And the decision was final! I go against all rules. Against all written and unwritten rules! I risk everything! I don’t think with my mind. I think and make the decision only with my heart! I shall hide the little creature in my lap and it shall continue the journey with me! Simply, I couldn’t leave her all alone in the deep snow. Yes, her. It’s a girl. Perhaps two or three months old. Weighing around 3-4 kg! In the meantime we searched the entire area, looking for more puppies or the mother. There was no one else. Soon, after a few kilometers, we left Bosnia! It was so warm in the car, she fell asleep within minutes. And so, driving on, I watched her and I was somehow happy. I felt so proud I can’t even describe to you that feeling. We go through the next country, and then the third one... the morning sun greets us after almost 800 km. In a land with no snow. The little body snuggled up beside me and it was like she found some safety in me. While my friend was driving, I fell asleep too. During the night, I felt a warmth on my face, I open my eyes and find her snuggled up against my neck, sleeping. And oh, I literally melted like ice cream in the sun! In the morning, at a gas station, I take her for her first walk and to pee. I thought she’d want to run away. But, no! She just peed very quickly, always looking where I was. If I was going to leave her. And I wasn’t going to play with her emotions like that from the start. I quickly gave her a hug and returned her into the warmth of the car... During the trip, she spent most of the time sleeping. And, while she was awake, she was looking at me! Love at first sight! During the day, we go through two more countries, with the little illegal passenger! And during the next night we reach our first destination! I feel no tiredness! Just a sort of adrenaline. We are kindly greeted by the person we are visiting! And then she saw the little Doggie in the car! In my bad English I explain to her where I found the Doggie. Where she’s from. She understands everything. I show her the videos I made. And there I find some hope... I think faster! While I’m trying to explain this, I’m looking at this woman, and she’s kissing her and crying! Yes, crying like a child! That’s how deeply struck she was by this story! She takes her phone and tries to explain to me that she’s calling all her friends who have Doggies! I feel a glimmer of hope... 20 minutes go by! And a car drives up in the yard. They explain that we should follow them in our car. They live nearby. We go to their house and I could feel they are discussing something. I knew her future was at stake. She asked me to show them the videos of the rescue too. And the same thing happens. This lady starts crying too. These wonderful people have so much emotion in them... Minutes of waiting go by, and after reaching a conclusion between them, this wonderful woman takes the little Doggie in her arms and they tell me She’s staying with them in their house!! That they’re accepting her as their family member! That they will take her to the vet and she’ll be all theirs! She’ll live with their two cute little poodles in their house! ☺️ For me, this feels like it’s a dream! Like some unbelievable story! Just 48 hours ago, this creature had no hope, had no future! And all it took was one moment of fate. Just one reflection in the dark, and her hopeless life turns into a wonderful story! Just like in the most beautiful fairy tales! My 💝 TAYA 💝, may your every step with your little paws be happy! Special thanks to rescuer: Fahrudin Caki Bravo
