Orchids - Flowers of Cattleya Alliance Growing in Southern

The flowers in this slideshow highlight the group of orchids related to the Cattleya corsage orchids. The photos were taken from my garden as well as orchid shows in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. Surprisingly, many of these orchids can be grown outdoors here in coastal southern California. Many of the Laelia and Sophronitis orchids do very well growing outdoors and can take temperatures down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
