The World Famous Puppet Circus - Film maker Ann Perrin

Ron and Joan’s World Famous Puppet Circus. I am Ann one of their daughters. My mother and I reconstructed this performance in th 90s, all of which took place in my loft, but it gives some of the spirit of the original. Luckily my mother and I immediately remembered the routines, although I was also running the camera at the same time, so nothing was straightforward and the editing afterwards took forever. Marionettes can have minds of their own! All these things are a labour of love and take forever! I have recently discovered a recording of the dialogue for the clowns on tape, but I find myself too emotional to use it as yet. Maybe an archive later! We had some puppets stolen from our garage in the 60s so our strong man and one or two others are missing. This circus appeared at Buckingham Palace in the 1950s but without these particular large elephants which were made for Variety much later. . is our story from 1946 to the present day. My blog
