Chinese Grammar Lesson: 还(hái) VS 也(yě) VS 又(yòu) - Learn Mandarin Chinese Both “还” and “又” can indicate some action happens again, but “还” is used to describe the action that hasn’t happened, and “又” is used to describe the action that happened once again and often comes with “了”. We often use “也” when someone has the same action as someone else, or someone has two or more similar actions.
