This kanji is very important in the practice of Shodo; it is the foundation of the EIJI HAPPOU (永字八法) or the Eight Principles of EI. EI contains the 8 basics strokes found in all Kanji. Mastery of EI is essential in learning Shodo. After watching this video you can download on the website the PDF file with the Kanji in the gridded red box.
