Building a Nanodrop Style UV/Vis Spectrometer

Spectrometers are one of the most ubiquitous tools in most labs because an enormous amount of information about a substance can be gleaned from how it interacts with various parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. But for as common as they are, the price tag on a new spectrometer can be massive. Today we go through a bit of theory on the electromagnetic spectrum so we understand spectrometery, and then build a little nanodrop-esq spectrometer for use in the lab. While it’s still a work in progress, it’s more than sufficient to preform many basic tests and experiments.
