Roman - ’You Can’t Always Get What You Want [Stoned Dub Mix]’ (1991)

It’s Gloria Robakowski again! Under the alias Roman, Gloria released two bluesy, pop-rock singles for Dave Dorrell’s Love Records label - ’You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ in 1991 and ’Sleeping Like A Baby’ in 1992. Both singles were unsuccessful but tucked away on both were, in my opinion, much more interesting electronic house remixes. This dub mix is the work of Terry Farley and Pete Heller, with keyboards from Mick Talbot (The Style Council). There’s a whiff of ’Screamadelica’ about it for me. Robakowski also appears on vocals with acts Burning The Bridge, Groove Train, Be BIG, The Grid, Airstream, Sensation and The Wolfgang Press.
