LEGO Mindstorms Cannon - 360°/ 3D

The LEGO AirGuard (LAG) is the 2nd generation of stationary defense systems. The turret has a 360° coverage capability in all three dimensions (3D) and fires 360 rounds per minute. Threat detection is achieved with the LEGO Advanced Air Radar (LAAR). Fully automated it is ideal for protecting operating bases against ground and air targets. In the reference grid (x/y/z) the LAG is positioned in the centre (0/0/0). A thread is detected by the LAAR (), the shown threat (balloon) was detected at (5/80/10). The algorithm calculates the direction/turn (alpha) of the target bases on the x and y values and the elevation (beta) based on the x, y, and z values as well as the velocity of the shells (3.6 m/s).
