Lena Horne: In Her Own Words

Born Mary Calhoun Horne (June 30, 1917 - May 09, 2010), the singer, dancer and actress was signed to MGM where she starred in numerous musical numbers and both of the only all-Black musicals of the Classic Hollywood era. Known for her poise, beauty and undeniable talent, Horne made a mark in Hollywood, although racism prevented her from being the superstar of the silver screen that she was meant to be.
