Maryag’s mini-album “History B“ is born out of the intricacy of history, in which we search for sincere human emotions. Like any search, the music here represents a combination of paths towards truth, blending styles and musical influences, seasoned with experimentation. British sound, African percussion, stretched Moog basslines, and ambient synthesized textures all come together in Maryag’s new release - “History B.“ Maryag is the pseudonym of Maxim Zhestkov, who combines the roles of musician, DJ, and producer. Over the past few years, his work has appeared on independent labels such as FROUFROUFROU, Inhale Exhale, Bellissima! Records, and others, and his mixes often appear on various online radio stations. Preferring Detroit house and New York disco sound, he sometimes ventures into experimenting with broken beats, introspective melodies, and elongated basslines.
