Padaj, silo i nepravdo (Fall, o force and injustice) with lyrics

Padaj, Silo i Nepravdo is a revolutionary song apparently dating to some time shortly after the Hvar Rebellion of 1510 in Croatia against the Venetians: the leader of that rebellion, Matija Ivanić, is mentioned, though this line is often changed to refer to Lenin instead in modern interpretations. The song came into use again during the Second World War, when the communist Partisans sang it after the Balkans were occupied by German forces. The song became famous later largely because it features prominently in a scene in the Yugoslav film Bitka na Neretvi (the Battle of the Neretva). --- Lyrics: Padaj silo i nepravdo, Narod ti je sudit zvan. Pravo naše ugrabljeno, Amo natrag dajte nam! Ne date li ne molimo, Uzet će ga narod sam. Ne date li ne molimo, Uzet će ga narod sam. Gradove smo vam podigli, Turne, kule gradili. English translation: Fall, o force and injustice, The people have been called to judge you. Flee from us, blacknesses of the night, Our day, too, has dawned. Flee from us, blacknesses of the night, Our day, too, has dawned. Our stolen rights, Come, give them back to us! If you do not give them, we will not beg; The people themselves will seize them. If you do not give them, we will not beg; The people themselves will seize them. We have raised cities for you, Built buildings and towers. Forever we have been slaves, And for you we labored. Forever we have been slaves, And for you we labored. The misfortune will be great In the strong palaces When you see that from the villages We are advancing with pickaxes. When you see that from the villages We are advancing with pickaxes. A new age will begin, O Matija Ivanić! You will rise then from the grave; With you into battle I will go! You will rise then from the grave; With you into battle I will go! A new flag will flutter Above our heads then. The worker, the peasant, will be one, Their work and labor is the same! The worker, the peasant, will be one, Their work and labor is the same! --- I release this translation, video, etc. into the public domain. The song itself and the original text are already in the public domain.
