First-person footage shows troops of the Siberian Battalion during their first battle inside Russia as they led attacks on Belgorod and Kursk this week. A huge gun battle breaks out in a wooded area, with the turncoat soldiers throwing grenades and opening fire with rifles at Russian soldiers. It is the first time the Siberian battalion, made up of troops from Russia’s remote eastern regions who have swapped sides, have been involved in fighting. Russia claimed the attacks were quickly repulsed, but evidence suggests the town of Tetkino - in the Kursk region - has actually been fully captured by the rebel Russians. Soldiers of the Freedom of Russia Legion, fighting alongside the Siberian Battalion, filmed themselves brandishing a flag in the town centre on March 15. Meanwhile the legion also managed to fly one of their flags attached to helium balloons over Moscow
