I’ve spent time in both China and Africa, and their cooperation in recent decades has grabbed my interest. Recently there’s been a lot of negativity written about the Chinese in Tanzania; they’re there for “debt-trap diplomacy“ and enforcing the will of the Chinese government. Was it true? I’m not sure if walking across the Nyerere bridge would answer that question, but it made for an interesting day while I waited for my new passport in Dar es Salaam. #sabbatical #africa #kigamboni
