Israel bars US Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar after Trump tweet | DW News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said their visit was meant to “harm Israel.“ Representatives Rashida Tlaib, who is of Palestinian heritage, and Ilhan Omar have both been highly critical of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. The entrance ban comes after US President Donald Trump tweeted that the congresswomen hated Israel and all Jewish people. US Ambassador to Israel David M. Friedman says the US supports and respects Israel’s decision to block the visit.
