Wine that literally makes music

Now, thanks to two Italian sound engineers, wine lovers are able to not only taste their vino, but also hear sounds created by their favourite vintage. STORY-LINE: Musical adjectives are often used to describe fine wines - a great wine can ’sing’, whites can often be ’high toned’. But now a pair of sound engineers from Alba in Italy’s Piedmont region have created sweet music from some of Italy’s best vintages including the classic Barolo. By simply touching or swirling the wine in his glass, Filippo Cosentino can listen to its sound, a new way - he says -  to “taste“ wine. “It is an auditory experience rather than an olfactory one in relationship with the wine,“ he says. “So this is for all the lovers of classical wine tasting, but it gives the possibility to appreciate the sound that is liberated from the glass.&
